Dr. Geisler is a world-renowned neurological spinal surgeon from Chicago, formerly of the Back Institute at Swedish Covenant Hospital. He is recognized by his surgical peers for his clinical expertise and innovation in spinal care. He is a founder of the Chicago Back Institute.
Dr. Geisler is a board-certified neurosurgeon with over 30 years of experience with a Ph.D. in Physics from Washington University and an M.D. and residency in Neurosurgery from State University of New York at Buffalo.
Dr. Geisler pioneers new and innovative spinal procedures and is a leading authority on spinal cord injuries, degenerative spinal diseases, and the sacroiliac (SI) joint. As an early adopter of new technologies, he has provided essential feedback necessary to effectively treat spinal patients.
Dr. Geisler was one of the first surgeons in the U.S. to adopt anterior cervical plating, total disc replacement, and the minimally invasive SI fusion. He was an early developer of spinal techniques at the Shock Trauma Center in Maryland and an assistant professor of neurosurgery at Rush Medical College, Rush University Medical Center, in Chicago. His numerous publications include acute spinal cord injuries, artificial discs, and cervical plates.
Dr. Geisler founded Rhausler, Inc. in 2008 to provide new, high quality, and innovative cervical spinal implants and instrumentation for the spine surgeon.
